Love Is Not Rude, Arrogant Or Inflated With Pride

Love Is Not Rude, Arrogant Or Inflated With Pride

Love endures long… It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) {and} does not act unbecomingly… (1 Corinthians 13:4-5 AMP).

When you get to know Jesus, you will become more humble. When men speak in pride and arrogance, that’s proof-positive that Christ has not been manifested to them; they’re not yet acquainted with Him. For the more you know Him, the more humble you become.

The Bible says “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith” (Romans 12:3). Some people think of themselves more highly than they should, such that they refuse to honor or recognize even those who are actually senior to them. You need to respect others for who they are for that’s the way of love.

There’s some who got offended because they were rebuked and corrected; that’s arrogance. There’s some others, who as far as they’re concerned, are bigger than everyone, and even find it difficult to greet and show respect to the elderly. That’s not Christianity!

An arrogant person, no matter how hard he or she tries, will never go far in life. The Bible says “For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted” (Luke 14:11). Refuse to be rude, arrogant or proud. God resists the proud and arrogant man, and gives grace to the humble. Some people just don’t know why they can’t seem to move forward and make progress in their lives; it’s because their hearts are inflated with pride.

Let the love of God arrest you! Refuse to allow pride or arrogance any place in your life. Learn to be humble. Never treat others with disdain, for love celebrates and honours others, it’s not rude, arrogant or inflated with pride.

Prayer
Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for giving me a heart that loves, honours and celebrates those around me. I ask that you guard my heart against pride and arrogance as I manifest your love to everyone in my sphere of contact today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
